September 2012 Hope's Happenings

Firefighter Day
One of our highlights for the month of September comes at the end of the month. On Thursday, September 27, several firefighters  and EMTs from the White River Township Fire Department will be coming to our school to talk about fire safety, and bringing a fire engine for the students to see.
If you would like to come and help be an extra pair of hands on that morning, please be sure to let your child’s teacher know of your interest.

Give As You Can / Take As You Need
COH families have the opportunity to bless one another. If you have clothing or toys which your children have outgrown, please feel free to bring them in on Tuesday for other families to take as needed. On the flip side, if you see anything that would work well for your child, please take it home. You DO NOT need to donate anything in order to take what you need.
This is a ministry we would like to make available each week, so as you have items to share, please bring them in on a Tuesday. However, please be advised: anything still there on Thursday after everyone has been picked up will go to Living Bread that evening; it will not be kept for the following week.

Current Contact Info
If you have any changes or additions to your contact information, please make sure to let the preschool office know. This even includes changes to your email address. If we need to get in touch with you during the school day, we won’t be able to unless we have updated information.  If you are unsure about the information we have on file, please ask us to check.
A Few Reminders
We just wanted to highlight a couple things:
While the weather is still nice, we will be outside for playtime. Please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately for the warm weather. Also, we recommend tennis shoes for school as the mulch on the playground can cause splinters in little feet wearing sandals.   Also, please dress your child in clothes that a  little paint would not ruin. Crafts and activities can sometimes be messy in preschool and we would hate to ruin anyone’s clothes.
Each child needs to bring a sack lunch each day, including a drink, napkin and utensils that the child may need to easily eat his or her lunch. Please do not send red or purple drinks or food (such as Jello or Kool-Aid) as it will stain the carpet, and no soda, as it may explode in the lunchbox or when opened.
September tuition is due during the first week of the month. Payment should be given directly to Mrs. Bonson. Checks need to be made out to “New Hope Church”.
If your child is going to be absent for any reason, please contact the school to let us know. If you don’t reach the staff, please feel free to leave a message on our voicemail. The number for the church is 888-HOPE (4673).
If you have any questions or concerns, please come by the office after you have dropped off your child, or give us a call. You can also email us at childrenofhopepreschool@gmail.com.
